Introducing the Twin Cities PR BIPOC Career Explorer, an externship program designed for BIPOC students interested in the practice of public relations and communications in the Twin Cities area.


What students will experience

What students will experience

  • Students get immersed in a real-world look at the communications and PR agency profession through a direct-access learning program led by six leading Twin Cities PR agencies.
  • Students will gain access to a network of professionals and mentors who can help connect them with future internship opportunities in the Twin Cities.
  • The entire program will be virtual in 2021.
  • Students should plan to commit to participating in two 90-minute virtual workshops a month at noon on Fridays from September 2021 to April 2022.
  • Each student will receive a $1,000 stipend for participation.

Selection criteria

  • Open to all BIPOC students entering 300 and 400 level classes or who are within approximately two years of graduating.
  • All applicants will complete a short online form and video submission stating why they want to explore the communications agency world.
  • All applications will be reviewed by a program governing committee of employees from participating agencies.
